Biography
BARBARA K MATTHIE,
CPIA
 Barbie
has been instrumental in the success of many of McConkey’s largest
commercial accounts and brings over 16 years of experience to McConkey, with
roots in the administrative and bond departments.
As an Account Executive providing insurance advisory services, Barbie brings
a practical application to the insurance business, which her clients find
helpful and often indispensable.
Barbie is a graduate of the
University
of Delaware.
She holds the Certified Professional Insurance Agent (CPIA)
designation and is pursuing the AAI designation.
Barbie is also an active community volunteer.
Her community involvement includes serving on the Board of Directors
for the York County Chamber of Commerce as well as serving as an Ambassador.
She is also a Junior Achievement Volunteer Teacher; the President of
the Board of Directors for House of Hope, York, PA, which provides
counseling services and eventually residential facilities for hurting teens;
a York Committee Member for ‘Dress for Success South Central PA’, whose
mission is to promote the economic independence of disadvantaged women; and
a member of Christ United Methodist Church handbell choir.
Barbie was also involved in the organization of the non-profit
“Putting for a Purpose” Ladies’ Golf outing, which raises funds for local
charities.
She lives in Seven Valleys with her husband, David, and
their three children. In her
free time, Barbie enjoys spending time with her many relatives and relaxing
at the beach.
