John Olkowski, CIC, CRM, AAI

John joined the McConkey team in 2005 as a Sales and Marketing Associate and has worked his way to Executive Vice President/Principal. Prior to his current role, John was an Account Administrator and Business Insurance Executive with McConkey, providing him with key industry insight that helps him to provide excellent service to our clients.

In addition to his work with traditional commercial insurance products and clients, one of John’s primary areas of focus is his work with captive insurance programs as well as with our social services/healthcare accounts. This extends to individual account placement as well program management. John is an integral part of our Surplus Lines Department, responsible for insurance placements outside of the admitted market for the agency.

John graduated first in his class in a national Travelers Insurance New Producers School in 2006 and has remained devoted to ongoing education in the field of insurance ever since. He has earned the designations of Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC), Certified Risk Manager (CRM), Accredited Advisor of Insurance (AAI) and the Certified Professional Insurance Agent (CPIA) and was named one of Central PA’s Forty Under 40 recipients in 2017.

A graduate of York Catholic High School and Grove City College, John is an active member of the community. He currently serves on the board of Spiritrust Lutheran Home Care and Hospice and is involved with United Way. In addition, he is an active participant in the Downtown York Rotary. In the past, he has been involved with York Young Professionals and York Jaycees, and he has also been a York Chamber of Commerce Ambassador. Additionally, he formerly served on the board of Leadership York and the LY Executive Connections Committee.

John, his wife, and two children currently live in Dallastown, PA. When he’s not working or volunteering, he likes to spend time with his family, grill, and cheer on the Ravens.
