Steven Buterbaugh, CPCU, AAI

Steve joined the McConkey team in 1991. He is a graduate of Millersville University, where he was a 4-year letterman in golf and a Dean’s List recipient. He holds the Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) designation. He has also been presented Central Penn Business Journal’s Forty Under 40 Award, which recognizes young professionals for excellence in business, commitment to community, and personal achievement.

Steve takes great pride in understanding each client’s business, enjoys his role as a business advisor to some of Central Pennsylvania’s top companies and their executives, and also loves working with McConkey’s executive team to manage the everyday challenges associated with managing a profitable, growing business.

Steve is an active member of various insurance agency councils and volunteers his time with selected community related organizations.

In his free time, Steve is dedicated to his family and their many activities. He enjoys watching his children play sports, loves playing golf, and has a passion for fly fishing. He lives in the Hempfield area of Lancaster County with his wife and three children.

One of Steve’s proudest accomplishments was leading a team of dedicated individuals on a project to bring the 2015 US Women’s Open to Lancaster. This internationally televised USGA event attracted 135,000 people and generated more than $25,000,000 for the local economy. Steve was Vice Chair of the event and is proud that the USGA has billed the 2015 US Women’s Open as the most successful Women’s Open of all time.
