Steven Buterbaugh, CPCU, AAI

Steve joined the McConkey team in 1991. He is a graduate of Millersville University, where he was a 4-year letterman in golf and a Dean’s List recipient. He holds the Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) designation and is also a Central Penn Business Journal’s Forty Under 40 alumni.

Steve is particularly proud of leading McConkey through the pandemic as a multiple Top 10 Best Place to Work recipient in both the insurance industry countrywide and in PA. Also under his tutelage, McConkey won several Top 50 Fastest Growing and Community Service awards.
Steve is an active member of, and volunteers his time with various non-profit and conservation focused organizations.

In his free time, Steve loves spending time with his family and dogs, he enjoys playing golf and Steve has a passion for fly fishing. He lives in the Hempfield area of Lancaster County.

One of Steve’s proudest accomplishments was leading a team of dedicated individuals to bring the 2015 US Women’s Open to Lancaster. This internationally televised USGA event attracted 135,000 people and generated more than $25,000,000 for the local economy. Steve was Vice Chair of the event and is proud that the USGA has billed the 2015 US Women’s Open as the most successful US Women’s Open of all time. He is very much looking forward to the US Women’s Open coming back to Lancaster in 2024.
