Most safety-focused companies expend a great deal of time and resources conducting worksite safety inspections, pre-shift/toolbox talks, safety committee meetings and safety training, including OSHA 10 & 30-hour training, but fail to provide those in leadership positions with the soft skills necessary to become effective safety leaders.
McConkey Insurance & Benefits and TekSolv have partnered to put together a 2-hour workshop designed to help foremen, managers, superintendents and supervisors develop and hone the skills necessary to effectively lead their employees from a safety perspective.
The workshop will include topics such as:
- Why people sometimes choose to work unsafely
- Establishing clear, measurable and realistic safety expectations
- Setting a safe example
- Measuring safe job performance
- Effective coaching
- Establishing the balance between disciplinary action and safety incentives
The workshop will include a small group case study where participants will apply information learned and develop the skills necessary to be effective safety leaders.
All participants will receive a certificate of completion.
