Client Service Manager – Business Insurance

McConkey Insurance & Benefits, a ten-time Best Places to Work in PA recipient and a nationally recognized Best Places to Work in Insurance, is experiencing growth within our Business Insurance division. The Client Service Manager position offers an excellent opportunity for a motivated and experienced client service professional to join our team.

The Client Service Manager manages an existing book of business providing exceptional service to our clients. This role works closely with the Business Insurance Executive to assure all clients’ insurance needs are met.

The Client Service Manager will be responsible for:

  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with Business Insurance Executives, Business Insurance Consultants, clients, and insurance carriers
  • Input and maintain all electronic files/client information in the client management system while following established workflows and procedures
  • Respond timely to all incoming telephone calls and emails including questions from clients, carriers and co-workers
  • Prepare Renewal Strategy Review and Proposals for each client annually
  • Prepare all binders, Certificates of Insurance, Evidence of Property, auto ID cards, E&S affidavits and other items related to the binding of new and renewal business
  • Manage the marketing process at renewal as directed by the Business Insurance Executive/Consultants which includes negotiating with underwriters, follow up, review and comparison of quotes
  • Maintain integrity of the client management system by monitoring reports on a consistent basis
  • Review and process open activities daily
  • Request endorsements as needed
  • Review endorsements, audits and policies for accuracy and prepare for client delivery using standardized wording
  • Utilize Client Service Associates for specific workflows when directed by management
  • Issue Certificates of Insurance, including reviewing contractual insurance requirements for compliance
  • Rate with various carriers as needed
  • Attend and participate in all department and company meetings
  • Demonstrate teamwork by assisting co-workers when directed by management
  • Ensure that the professional standards of McConkey are being met
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management

The best candidate for this position will have:

  • College degree or advanced education preferred
  • Current Property & Casualty insurance (or must obtain within three months of hire)
  • At least two years of Business Insurance service experience preferred
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Organizational skills with great attention to detail
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment
  • Ability to work at fast-pace, meet deadlines, and multi-task
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

Core Applications Support Coordinator

McConkey Insurance & Benefits is actively recruiting a Core Applications Support Coordinator to join our Technology Department. This role will provide support to users on company-wide software applications and help drive processes and efficiencies in all AMS technology throughout the firm.

The Core Applications Support Coordinator will be responsible for:

  • Be the expert in each department’s usage of Applied’s Epic, Brokerage Builder, Erlon, and rating systems as far as reporting, documentation, workflows, and activities in order to assist in delivering efficiencies in software to end users in client service and account management.
  • Provide daily core application support for Applied’s programs, rating systems, Zywave’s products, and Erlon including upgrades.
  • Review and recommend reporting capabilities of the system to enable senior management to analyze data for historical data retrieval, book of business, production, and forecasting.
  • Coordinate the training of staff to get more use and efficiencies out of EPIC, BKB, Erlon and other software packages such as Word, Excel, carrier rating programs, etc.
  • Review and recommend updates to workflows, form letters, proposals and renewal strategy documents and aid with implementation of a combined proposal/renewal strategy document. This role is responsible for the integrity of these workflows and forms.
  • Provide support for onboarding new team members including carrier websites, and AMS setup and training.
  • Become the liaison and implementation contact with carriers for download, eDOCs, websites, suspense items.
  • Provide support in maintaining the daily downloads for all divisions (including Personal Lines and Finance & Accounting), including assigning items out of suspense.
  • Participate as a member of the Innovation Team.
  • Work with the Technology Team in developing the annual budget for software needs.
  • Train staff and provide utilization support for CSR24/7 and Portal.
  • Update Portal to McConkey’s brand including additional content.
  • Assist divisions to push technology out to clients where it can be of value to them and to company.
  • Research and recommend innovative solutions to further enhance current technology software portfolio.
  • Work with sales manager/sales coordinator on utilization of AMS pipelines and opportunities.
  • Provide technology support for connectivity issues including carrier rating systems and other programs (Total CSR, PATRA).
  • Train new AMS users.
  • Act in a role of agency technology support, in times of need and as directed by the leadership team; includes working on Help Desk tickets.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

The best candidate will have:

  • Minimum of two years of software technology experience; preferably within an insurance agency
  • Must obtain/maintain a Property & Casualty and a Life & Health insurance license at all times
  • College degree in related field preferred
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Resourceful, innovative approach to problem solving
  • Strong communication skills both written and verbal
  • Must be a team-player but can work independently to meet deadlines
  • Ability to take direction yet show initiative to be proactive
  • Interpersonal skills to build outstanding relationships and foster team environment
  • Needs to be able to develop strategies and organize resources to execute the goals set and be able to demonstrate leadership skills

Employee Benefits Client Service Manager

The Employee Benefits Client Service Manager Will be Responsible For:

  • Managing carrier relations and activities during plan changes and ongoing service
  • Resolving employee and employer benefits issues
  • Acting as a liaison with carriers to resolve claims issues
  • Answering questions related to legislation and benefit laws and compliance
  • Maintaining client management system updates on a regular basis
  • Following up on outstanding tasks and activities related to clients
  • Soliciting quotes for new and renewal client plans according to guidance from Consultants
  • Evaluating all carrier proposals and preparing client comparisons
  • Preparing renewals and client presentations
  • Maintaining constant communication with Consultant regarding strategy and service

The Best Candidate for This Role Will Have:

  • Current Life & Health License (or ability to obtain within three months of hire)
  • College degree or advanced education preferred
  • At least two years of Client Service or Benefits Administration experience in Benefits Brokerage/Insurance industry preferred
  • Ability to effectively multitask and work independently
  • Great organizational and detail-oriented skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

Personal Lines Client Service Manager

The Client Service Manager position offers an excellent opportunity for a motivated and experienced client service professional to join our team.

The Client Service Manager manages an existing book of business providing exceptional service to our clients. The Client Service Manager responsibilities include:

  • Services existing book of accounts including renewals, endorsements, binders, applications, etc.
  • Upgrades, improves, and rounds out all current accounts
  • Handles all client requests and servicing needs
  • Maintains a thorough account file on all clients including proper transaction filing
  • Verifies accuracy of policies, endorsements, cancellations, renewal and system data
  • Requests home estimators, VI appraisals, driver information and other pertinent data necessary for internal file or carrier file

The best candidate for this position will have:

  • A current Pennsylvania Property & Casualty insurance license
  • Personal Lines client service experience; use of Epic client management system preferred
  • College degree or advanced education preferred
  • Strong communication skills: written and verbal, including emphasis on phone communication, listening, and interpersonal skills to effectively maintain productive internal and external relationships
  • Effectively communicates and collaborates with colleagues on team as well as other divisional colleagues
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Word and Excel

Personal Lines Insurance Consultant

The Personal Lines Insurance Consultant position offers an excellent opportunity for a motivated and experienced client service professional to join our team.

The Personal Lines Insurance Consultant responsibilities include:

  • Establish, expand, and reinforce client relationships
  • Provide excellent service to existing group of clients throughout the policy cycle,
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of client information and interactions
  • Collect and analyze risk information to determine individual coverage needs
  • Develop and deliver customized insurance solutions directly to the client
    Provide clients with detailed explanations of products, services, and coverages
  • Independently develop and maintain strong knowledge of the marketplace
  • Establish and cultivate strong internal and external working relationships
  • Generate leads through referrals, networking, and community involvement
  • Collaborate with internal departments to ensure client success

  • Holds current Pennsylvania Property & Casualty insurance license

  • Proficiency in agency management system; Epic experience preferred
  • Participate in seminars and educational classes to develop skills and keep current of regulations and best practices
  • Insurance designation strongly encouraged
