McConkey’s commitment to support their local community has been a priority that dates back to it’s inception in the late 1800’s.
Fulfilling our commitment to service is about more than writing checks. It’s about making an impact. We do that with the help of the McConkey family—employees who are dedicated to making their community a better place to live.
The Tim Kotula Community Outreach Committee
McConkey Insurance & Benefits is proud to have an internal committee that acts as a direct liaison between McConkey and the needs of the local community. The Tim Kotula Community Outreach Committee’s purpose is to give back to the local community that has supported McConkey since 1890. The committee does this by hosting internal events to raise funds or organizing opportunities for McConkey employees to donate their time through volunteering. All funds or donations collected are then donated to local causes, being local families or nonprofits in need of support.
McConkey Box Project
McConkey Insurance & Benefits is proud to announce the collection of more than 11,000 pounds of donated items through the McConkey Box Project. The initiative is a region-wide project launched as a way for the insurance and benefits company to give back to the community in honor of its 125th anniversary. The McConkey Box Project, which launched in November, focused on collecting 125 boxes of donations for ten nonprofits based in York and Lancaster Counties.
More than 50 of McConkey’s clients and business partners throughout Central Pennsylvania have participated by serving as host sites for donation boxes. The benefiting nonprofits include food banks and soup kitchens, animal shelters, the Salvation Army, and Goodwill all located within York and Lancaster Counties.
Members of the community also got involved by dropping off donations at McConkey’s office located in York. McConkey staff used space throughout the York office and a storage unit, which was donated by PODS Enterprises, LLC to store, sort and organization items until they could be donated.
