Alex Kauffman joined the team in June 2023 as a Surety Bond Executive. Prior to joining McConkey, Alex worked in the commercial banking industry for ten years as a Vice President in the commercial lending group at Mid Penn Bank. In his previous banking role, Alex managed a large portfolio of commercial clients primarily in the construction, real estate, manufacturing, and medical industries. Alex received the Chairman’s Award for 2022 at Mid Penn Bank following several years of rapidly growing his reputation and book of commercial clients in Central Pennsylvania while additionally mentoring several peers in the organization.
In his role at McConkey, Alex has placed bond programs for a wide variety of construction firms. He particularly enjoys educating clients on how to grow their bond capacity by utilizing our in-house financial analysis and WIP trending tools developed by our team. In addition to his focus on the construction industry, Alex has helped to place bonds for many other industries including energy, transportation, equipment dealers & suppliers, nonprofits and has developed an expertise in handling bonds for commercial real estate firms as well.
Alex grew up in the Mechanicsburg area and still resides there today with his wife, Whitney, and their four children. They are active within their church and enjoy pursuing their musical interests together throughout the Mid-Atlantic region. He also sits on the board of New Hope Ministries and is a member of their Admin and Finance committee.
In his spare time, Alex enjoys spending time with family, playing drums and guitar, riding motorcycles and traveling.
