Dan joined the team in October 2023 as a Business Insurance Consultant in our Commercial Lines Division. In this role he handles a book of business and works closely with the rest of the Property and Casualty team.

Prior to joining McConkey, Dan was employed by Nationwide for three years and then Travelers for over four years. His background is in claims, specifically first party medical, non-injury liability and property claims, servicing both Maryland and Pennsylvania. He possesses his Associate in Claims (AIC) designation. Dan is also an FAA-licensed commercial drone pilot!

Before his successful career in insurance, Dan was a paramedic for four years. He earned his Master’s in Business Administration from West Chester University of Pennsylvania, and prior to that, his Bachelor’s in Applied Health Studies from the Pennsylvania College of Technology.

Originally from Perry County, Dan now resides in Mechanicsburg with his wife, Allie. Together they have three children (Benjamin, Ella and Nora) and two dogs (Thor and Teddy).

In his spare time, Dan enjoys spending time with his family, running his kids to their various activities, rooting for Pittsburgh sports teams, hunting, fishing, boating, and trying out new restaurants in the area. He is also a member of the Upper Allen Township Parks and Recreation Board.
