McConkey Insurance & Benefits, a leading provider of financial security and risk management solutions, is pleased to announce the promotion of Laura Mercadante and Brock Lytle to the positions of Vice President/Principal, effective January 1, 2024.

Laura Mercadante, who joined the McConkey team in 2011, began as a Client Service Manager in the Benefits Department where she played a crucial role in supporting account managers and executives, contributing to the sales process, and managing client service needs. Laura’s journey within the organization led to successive promotions, ultimately culminating in her role as Director of Employee Benefits. A Penn State graduate with a Bachelor of Science in Marketing, Laura has over 20 years in the insurance industry. She currently holds the Group Benefits Associate (GBA) designation through the International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans and is actively pursuing her Certified Employee Benefit Specialist (CEBS) designation.

Brock Lytle, joined the team in 2016, as a Business Insurance Executive bringing with him a broad depth of insurance industry experience. He began his insurance career with Travelers as a claims adjuster working with commercial businesses in the Northeast. He then transitioned his claims experience to Travelers’ commercial underwriting group, where his responsibilities included developing opportunities, underwriting exposures and controls, considering different approaches to insurance terms and conditions, and negotiating program details with agency partners. At McConkey, Brock’s primary responsibilities are focused on servicing several of the agency’s largest construction and group captive clients, as well as promoting growth across the Business Insurance division. A graduate of Bloomsburg University with a BSBA in Marketing, Brock holds the Construction Risk & Insurance Specialist (CRIS) designation through the International Risk Management Institution (RMI) and actively participates in the Associated Builders & Contractors – Keystone Chapter.
